Electro Magnetic Fields (EMFs) and how they effect our environment and health

Our topic was Electro Magnetic Fields (EMFs) in our environment and how they may affect our health and well being. In particular, how has Austin Energy responded to the possible EMF effects associated with its SmartMeter program?Leaders of the local electric utility, Austin Energy and Dr. Laura Pressley jointly developed a program offering customers a choice to opt out of the SmartMeter program.

Our guests for this week were:

Dr. Laura Pressley, Ph D is a 26-year resident of Austin, a mother, a community advocate, a chemist with a doctorate from UT, a former employee in the semiconductor industry, and the main driver behind Austin Energy’s new choice for opting out of the automatic SmartMeter program. Dr. Pressley experienced high sensitivities and illness when her home was outfitted with a SmartMeter and she took direct action working with the city’s utility to bring this choice to other residents and customers.

Leonard Hough, a 49-year resident of Austin, is an electrical engineer, who specialized in electric and magnetic fields when he worked for Austin Energy and is knowledgeable about the sources of electric and magnetic fields, the health-effects, research, and the mitigation of field exposures in homes, businesses, and near electric lines.

Kieran Kuykendall D.C. has a local Chiropractic practice and has studied Applied Kinesiology. Dr. Kuykendall is consistently in search of new ways to apply and teach others about true health care. His personal life journey and travels throughout the world, have afforded him the opportunity to possess an abundance of compassion and devotion to humanity and the world that we live in.
